Tregenna is a large Victorian building with two well-maintained outdoor areas. The home is registered for 49 beds, and is split into three different wings. Each wing has a unique aspect; Cactus is a male-only unit, Primrose has a large communal area for residents who are more mobile, and Bluebell provides a quieter environment. All units are well-staffed with highly trained, skilled and motivated support workers. To ensure consistency, each unit has allocated nurses and senior support workers. We specialise in dementia nursing care and aim to provide outstanding care; our latest CQC report rates us as ’good’.
At Tregenna, it is of the highest importance to provide person-centred care, a warm, welcoming and friendly environment, and most importantly a comfortable and supportive home for people living with dementia and complex needs. As Tregenna becomes our residents' home, their loved ones are welcome at all times; we have no specific visiting hours and hold regular family meetings. We recognise the importance of supporting the family and friends of our residents and will always make time to do so.
We like to celebrate, and when there is a national event we endeavour to create a celebratory atmosphere within the home. We have Christmas parties and summer fetes as well as visiting entertainment throughout the year. Bedrooms can be personalised in line with the wishes of our residents and their loved ones with the support of our maintenance and housekeeping teams. Our activities co-ordinators work closely with residents, providing meaningful activity tailored to each resident. Residents are also supported to access the community, accompanied by staff.
At Tregenna we have a professional chef team who create tasty and nutritious meals and will also cater for specialist diets and residents’ requests. Family and friends are welcome to dine with us at any time.
Our team at Tregenna have worked hard to attain the Gold Standards Framework for end of life care, achieving ’Commend’ status in 2014 and being further awarded 'Platinum' status in September 2017. This means that the care we provide is dignified, respectful and holistic.
If you wish to look around Tregenna, please contact us, and one of our team will be happy to accomodate this.
Each year, we carry out a survey to find out what our residents, or their loved ones, think of our service. The results of this survey from the past 3 years is below:
